Wooden Wave
This is a personal interest project, I designed this set of tableware as an extension of the project Bites of Japan. I put more time into ideation and looking for more interesting and unique ways to combine different materials.
And here we have this set of tableware that includes a bowl, a plate, a pair of chopsticks, and a chopsticks stand. Each piece has its unique pattern, the organic pattern of wood combined with resin. They look different, yet still connected with a unified style.
01
The Bowl
The bowl itself has a relatively complex pattern, yet completely ransom. The wave-looking edge gives this bowl an amazing visual experience, especially when looking at it under the sunlight, it will reflect the light and appear a shiny, golden color.
02
The Plate
The plate has a more simple pattern compared to the bowl. If the bowl represents a 3-dimensional visual experience, then the plate is 2-dimensional. If the wood part is on the top then it looks like melted chocolate, if it's on the bottom then it looks like a mountain.

Chopsticks and Stand
A pair of handmade chopsticks that is also made out of walnut wood, the same as the chopsticks in the Bites of Japan collection, has a triangular end. The chopsticks stand follows the unified style in terms of form and appearance. It's handmade using clear acrylic, it plays the role of the continuous extension of the pattern from the bowl and the plate and forms a connection between the chopsticks and the other two pieces.
